Game Rules

Last updated October 31, 2026

The short version
  • Inside the game, anything goes: lie, scheme, betray, rob and shoot. That's the game.
  • Outside the game, play clean: one account, no cheating, no real money, no harassing real people.
  • Found a bug? Report it. Don't use it.
  • The owner has the final decision on anything in the game, and on every rule below.

1. The owner's word is final

The owner of The Mob Way has the final decision on anything in the game. These rules can't cover everything. When something isn't covered, or a rule could be read more than one way, the owner decides, and that decision stands. Staff act for the owner; the owner can confirm, change or overturn any staff decision.

Breaking the spirit of a rule counts the same as breaking its letter. "It wasn't technically against the rules" is not a defence.

2. In the game vs. real life

The Mob Way is a game about crime. Inside it, ruthless play is expected:

  • Killing other characters, robbing them, jailing them and wrecking their bodyguards.
  • Lying, bluffing, betraying your family, spreading rumours, setting traps.
  • Trash talk and in-character threats ("You're sleeping with the fishes").
  • Forming families, alliances and grudges, and turning on them.

What is never allowed is taking it out of the game:

  • Threatening, stalking or harassing the real person behind a character.
  • Posting anyone's real-world personal information (name, address, photos, workplace, social accounts). This is called doxxing and gets a permanent ban.
  • Telling anyone to hurt themselves, or threatening real-world violence. Real threats may be reported to the authorities.

3. Accounts

  • One account per person. No second accounts, alt accounts or "spare" accounts, for any reason.
  • One character at a time per account, as the game allows.
  • Shared connections: if more than one person plays from the same home, school, work or device, tell staff by support ticket before you play. Accounts on the same connection must never help each other: no sending money or items, no killing for each other, no joining each other's families for an advantage. Staff may treat linked accounts that interact as one person.
  • No account sharing or sitting. Only you play your account. Nobody else logs in for you, even for a minute.
  • No selling, buying or trading accounts or characters.
  • Retiring a character to dodge a punishment, an investigation or a debt in the game is treated as the thing you were dodging.

4. Cheating

  • No bots, scripts, macros or auto-clickers. Every click must be a person clicking. Tools that refresh, click, alert or act for you are banned, including browser extensions.
  • No modifying the game, its pages or its traffic, and no trying to read anything the game keeps hidden.
  • No farming. Setting up fake kills, fights, deals, busts or any other action between friends or accounts to pump up stats, achievements, money or progress is cheating, even if each account belongs to a different person.
  • No feeding. Passing money, items or advantages to another player in a planned way to get around the game's limits is not allowed. Normal trading, gifts and family support are fine.
  • No attacks on the game: overloading it, breaking into it, or getting into anyone else's account.

5. Bugs

  • If something works in a way that's clearly not meant to (duplicate money, skip a timer, see hidden information, act from jail…), stop and report it by support ticket with what you did.
  • Using a bug on purpose, or telling others how to, is cheating. Everything gained from it is taken back, and the account may be banned.
  • Players who report serious bugs first may get a reward. Whether, and what, is up to the owner.

6. Real money

  • No real-money trading. Never buy or sell in-game cash, items, help, protection, kills, characters or accounts for real money, gift cards, crypto, items in other games, or anything else outside The Mob Way.
  • Offering or asking for such a deal breaks the rule, even if it never happens.
  • The only real-money purchases allowed are the official extras sold by the game itself.

7. Names and pictures

Account names, character names, nicknames, family names, profile text and pictures must not:

  • contain slurs, hate symbols, or attacks on anyone's race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, sexuality or disability;
  • be sexual, or show nudity or graphic real-world violence or gore;
  • impersonate staff, the game, another player, or a real person;
  • contain real-world personal information, links or adverts;
  • use someone else's picture without permission.

Mob-style names and gangster themes are expected. Staff can rename anything that breaks these rules, and some names are reserved by the game.

Every picture is checked automatically when it's uploaded, and one that shows nudity or sexual content is refused. Swimsuits are fine. A picture that gets past the check can still break these rules.

8. Chat, forums and mail

  • No hate speech or slurs, in any language or spelling.
  • No harassment: following a player around the game to torment them out of character, after they've asked you to stop, is not role-play.
  • No sexual content involving anyone, and absolutely none involving minors. That one is an instant permanent ban and will be reported.
  • No spam: flooding, repeating the same message, or posting just to farm.
  • No advertising other games, sites, servers or services.
  • No posting other people's private messages to embarrass or harm them. Leaking in-game secrets as part of the game is fine.
  • Keep forums on topic for the section you're posting in.
  • Don't post links to anything harmful, illegal, sexual or meant to steal accounts.

9. Scams and deals

  • In-game scams are part of the game. If someone promises you protection, a payout or a seat in their family and doesn't deliver, that's the mob life. Staff won't get your money back.
  • Out-of-game scams are not. No phishing for passwords or emails, no fake "staff" messages, no fake login pages, and no deals involving real money or other games.
  • Pretending to be staff, or claiming staff will do something for you, is never allowed, in character or not.

10. Staff

  • Staff are the owner, plus the admins and moderators the owner appoints. They're marked as staff in the game.
  • Follow staff instructions about the rules, even if you disagree; appeal afterwards (section 13).
  • Don't harass staff or argue decisions in public chat or the forums.
  • Staff will never ask for your password or your email login.
  • Staff may play the game. They don't use staff tools to help their own characters, and you can report it if you think one has.
  • The owner may play characters, step into events, and use any tool at any time. See section 1.

11. Death and refunds

  • Characters get one life. Deaths inside the game are final, except where the owner decides otherwise.
  • Losses inside the game (money stolen, bodyguards killed, a bad deal, being jailed at a bad moment) are never refunded.
  • Only the owner can bring a character back or restore anything, and only if the owner decides to.
  • Lag, a dropped connection, a misclick or a closed browser don't count.

12. Penalties

Staff choose the penalty that fits, looking at how serious it was, whether it was on purpose, what it gained, and your history. They can skip straight to the harshest step.

PenaltyWhat it means
WarningA recorded warning on your account.
MuteNo chat, forum posts or mail for a set time.
JailYour character is locked up.
RollbackMoney, items, stats or progress gained unfairly are taken back, from you and anyone who received them.
Character deathYour character is killed. Normal death rules apply.
SuspensionYour account can't be used for a set time.
Permanent banYour account is closed for good, with everything on it, including paid extras. Any other accounts you own are banned too, and making a new one to get around a ban means another ban.

Doxxing, real-world threats, sexual content involving minors, real-money trading, and attacks on the game normally go straight to a permanent ban.

13. Reporting and appeals

  • Report a player, a bug or a problem with Contact at the bottom of any page (choose "Report a player" or "Bug report"), or email support@themobway.com. Include names, what happened and when. Screenshots help.
  • Reports are private. The player you report isn't told who reported them.
  • False reports made to get someone punished are themselves a rule break.
  • Appeal a decision once, by support ticket, within 14 days. Keep it calm and stick to the facts.
  • The owner reviews appeals, and the owner's decision is final.
